Guest guest
Leah, I also have acrylic nails and for this surgery (and an unrelated surgery the year before) I showed up w/new manicure, pedicure, red polish and all. They say no... but it was no problem and my nails were left untouched. You will get as many answers on driving as there are surgeons out there (and some of us with the same surgeon get different answers). My surgeon publishes in one of their booklets that you can drive after 5 days with Lap, after 2 weeks with open. As mentioned before, be careful driving with pain meds. I did it for years before my 4th back surgery took care of my back pain. Otherwise, I wouldnt have been behind the wheel of a car for the 17 years it took to get my back fixed. As for the 'intimate' question.... LOL milk being on the receiving end as long as you can. Subject: Surgery coming soon! Hi all! I haven't posted much and thought I would since my surgery is coming up very soon. I am having mine May 12th. I am really looking forward to feeling the way I used to when I was thin. I want to be able to keep up with my kids. I just have a few questions. First off...I have artificial tips on my nails and my toes are painted. Does anyone know if I have to have those removed before my surgery? I just don't want to go in and have them do it. I would rather do it myself if it isn't allowed. Secondly, does anyone know how long after surgery you can begin to drive? I have two young kids and a husband that works. I am a stay at home mom and drive the kids to doc appointments and to the grocery store. And this next question comes from my hubby...He wants to know how long after surgery can he and I be intimate again? *LOL* I am not sure I am going to be feeling up to that but he wants to know. I am getting excited and I will be putting up a BLOG on my web page. I hope that some of you will come and follow me through my journey. I have had trouble with depression after my second child was born and it seemed the more people I had emailing and chatting with me, the better I seemed to get, so I hope you will all help me get through the rough stuff. Thanks, Leah 288 and surgery May
