Guest guest
I would suggest that you go ahead and call the surgeon, Bob. I wasn't banded or wired -- until I developed some pain in my lower jaw, the one he'd worked on. When I told him, he said, " Let's give it some support. " He added what I presume were the equivalent of surgical hooks, and stuck two fairly hefty (I'm thinking 1/8 inch and 8-oz) elastics up there, and the pain stopped within 15 minutes. Why hurt, if it can be resolved that easily? So I'm gathering that you're one of the lucky few who didn't need ortho before surgery. Congratulations. (You probably told us that before, but I'm just now picking up on it. Sorry.)
