Guest guest
Andy,I know I have simmered chicken soup for much longer than 7 hours before and it is fine. I didn't eat the meat or veggies, just strained it all and kept only the broth. In fact, it should have all sorts of good stuff leached from the bones. It shouldn't be necessary to go back to intro for a little blood. Sometimes it takes awhile for that to completely go. I would try to note if you thought it was a new food causing it and eliminate for now and retest at a later date. The two SCDophilus capsules are fine, but you might want to split them so that you are taking 1 in the morning and one in the evening to spread it out over the day. I would say that if there is about 7 billion live bacteria total in 1 cup of the SCD yogurt and there were 3 billion in each capsule you would be close to about 1 cup of yogurt a day. Which is reasonable. Since Elaine recommended no more than 3 cups per day that would mean that you could take up to 6 capsules a day and still be within reasonable. Although, I think Elaine limited the amount of yogurt for reasons other than the bacteria content. How are the skin and other issues going? Sanjay seems to have improvement and then worsening of his. Sometimes it starts to spread and then doesn't look as bad. Weird. AmeliaFrom: Andy Ram To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, March 8, 2010 5:16:28 PMSubject: Overcooked chicken soup? Dear ones- I forgot to switch off the stove after 4 h, and my chicken soup simmered for ~7 h. Is it ok -- it doesn't have a very agreeable smell Also, my BMs are pretty alright -- once a day, mushy. I am on nearly Stage 4 of pecan bread. But sometimes I have a few drops of fresh blood for no apparent reason. Do I have to go back to Intro everytime this happens or just make a cautious note and move forward? Is this part of healing? One more thing: I take 2 pills of SCDophilus as substitute for yogurt. Anybody knows a recommended dose if not on yogurt? Thanks, Andy.

You could go back to intro - but you don't have to - maybe add some broth on those days or do a vitamin E enema - and try to figure out if you are eating something similar on those days. Also I would do softer foods afterwards - for instance, if you are eating seeds or whole nuts, I would definitely leave those out for a few days. > > One more thing: I take 2 pills of SCDophilus as substitute for yogurt.
