Guest guest
Being sick can wear anyone out. There can be secondary problems too, such as vitamin deficiencies, hormones and so on. I know my GI doc was not interested in checking for things outside the GI system. It was my gyn who found out I was Vit D deficient. If you are feeling bad and not better after expanding your diet, maybe there is something else you need to do too. I think it's normal to feel tired esp in the beginning of the diet and you are doing well by giving your body the rest it really needs. > You mentioned you are eating black/navy beens. Maybe this is a bit early for you as it's suggested one should try them (and other pulses) only after having been on this diet for at least 3 months. > Adding in steamed green beans and steamed brokoli sounds like a good idea and might give you a little more activity in the gut and energy to live. :-) > Have you seen this chart, it really gives a good guideline of which foods are easiest to digest and best to use at first and then slowly introduce other foods when feeling better: > > http://pecanbread.com/p/how/stages.htm > > Hope you are feeling better soon. > Take care, > Simone > Crohn's 1999 > SCD 2004 > > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: BTVC-SCD > Sent: Fri, 26 February, 2010 12:38:23 > Subject: so tired at night > > > I've been on the diet for a month and a half and I odn't know what's working. I read the posts and love when people say that this is working but maybe I'm being so strict on myslef. For most meals I eat pureed carrots/squash/ chicken/broth/ turmeric/ garlic/salt. I had been eating prune puree with apples. Sometimes some eggs. I drink water and have warm lemon juice in the morning. I'm ok with my diet being very picky but I'm worried because I just get exhausted by 7 and can't funtion after 8. Doesn't do well for trying to get anything done. Any suggestions? Maybe I need some other supplements. > > > >Thanks so much, > > >
Guest guest
, I noticed that eating very easily digestible foods helped with my energy levels at the beginning. I read that a person with a damaged digestive system can spend up to 80% of their energy on digestion. I ate mainly purees and then started working up the stages suggested at Pecanbread.com. My energy level increased dramatically just by doing this! I still stick to easy to digest for the most part, because the yeast and bacteria just feed on what you cannot break down. > > I've been on the diet for a month and a half and I odn't know what's working.
