Yann,

I'm really sorry about what is going on with your splint! Right

before mine was removed, the wires started breaking on it and it was

very ready to come off... I had to get in there with pliers to tuck

the wires in until I could see my OS. Anyway, at one point before

then, I thought I was chewing through my splint because I tend to

grind/clench through anything.... I was clenching even only a couple

weeks after my surgery (and it killed!) Anyway, I didn't have

problems with my splint even with all that. I wanted to tell you

though that pretty early on after my sx - maybe three weeks after- my

OS gave me the Ok to use Listerine again. I used it at least 3 weeks

before my splint was removed and it never had any effect on the

splint at all. Granted I have no idea what particular plastic

compound yours is made out of mine versus what mine was made out

of.... Maybe the way your teeth bite now, the plastic just can't

withstand the pressure and it has started to crack open due to

certain weakened pressure points?? I would definitely call your OS,

if not today, first thing tomorrow. How far along are you post op?

Did you know how soon he was planning on removing the splint anyway??

Good luck!! Katja
