Guest guest
Irritation is certainly usual, and it can be painful. But I think it it's bothering you enough to bring up here, you probably feel that it's something out of the ordinary. If I had any swelling, I'm not aware of it. The thing I'm wondering here is whether you have some sort of metal allergy. It has happened. (And when you get to the elastics, some folks also have latex allergies.) I think I'd call my ortho and ask whether it's something you need to ask him to have a look at. I don't know what they do, if you do have the allergies, but I think there are some things that can bring relief. Is any of the other metal in your mouth causing problems?
