Hi - this week my son had his 6-month check-up and the pediatrician did

not see any improvement in his head shape and suggested that he get

fitted for a cranial band. The Dr office gave me information on

Cranial Tech and the DOC band - but I know there are other brands and

companies out there. I am looking for any feedback that anyone has

about the various bands out there (DOC, STAR, Hanger...). We live in

the Western suburbs of Chicago.

Thank you SO much for any help/info that you can provide. I just want

to do what is best for my little boy.

I have shed my share of tears these past few days and I am so glad to

find this resource and to find out that many families have

plagiocephaly success stories!

:o)

Hi Jenn,

you'll be surprised that it really isn't that bad once you get

started. Sometimes you even forget the band is there. Cranial Tech

(CT) has a very good reputation and does only banding. Nearly everyone

that goes there speaks highly of them. My daughter wore a starband and

had very good results. However with Star and other bands, the

orthotist may do lots of things besides banding babies, so experience

varies widely. You want to make sure the person you're working with

has a lot of experience, since this definitely impacts your chance of

getting good results. Here is the address of a starband provider in

Chicago, but I don't know their reputation (I found it on the

orthomerica website):

Jenn,

The information below (from ) for STARband is where I go for my son. I

see Pat Rogel and Rob every week. They came highly recommended to me by Dr.

Vicari (plastics at Childrens). If you need any additional information about

this location - let me know...
