Guest guest
Hi Marcy! Glad to hear Ethan is doing so great. I had in a private daycare when she was younger. There were only 4 kids total. Anyway, my daycare provider was excellent working with in her shoes. She really did well making her feel just like the others even though she had her shoes on. She did exactly as I asked as far as not removing the shoes, etc. 23/7 is the hardest to get through, but it will go quickly. We always did our hour of free time in the evenings so we could give her a bath. Now, is in public daycare with 16 other kids in her class. is still in her FAB when I drop her off in the morning. They remove the FAB at 9:00 AM. I haven't had any problems at all. The other kids haven't even asked about it yet. Talk with your day care center and let them know EXACTLY what you expect them to do. I think Ethan will do just fine. Good luck. Marcy Schwab wrote: Thank you to EVERYONE who responded regarding the Markells and blisters. Ethan has been in his shoes since Friday and he seems to be doing just fine -- better than his mommy! We are vigilant about getting his shoes *very* tight and he doesn't seem to slip at all. In fact, he slept through the night for the very first time his first night in his shoes. We couldn't believe it. Unfortunately, he only did it that one time, but I was thrilled to know he could do it. So far so good. I'm crossing my fingers that this lasts. We start him in daycare next week when I go back to work. I hope that goes well too. Anyone else have their club foot kid in daycare. Any advice? Thank you again. You guys are incredible. Guest guest
Yeah Ethan! My son began daycare while still in casts. When he got the fab-he was only in the daycare for roughly 2 weeks. I made sure they knew to call me if anything happened to his shoes-ie slippage, etc. I made the 1 hour of free time be at night. When he got reduced to 20 hours-i had the school take his shoes off at 2pm(his bedtime is roughly 6pm). We only accidentally forgot his shoes once-however, the school knew how important his shoes/bar were and called us to come get them!! Whew what a relief. While he is in the shoes 23/7, just let the daycare know what activities he can do-ie swing, bouncey chair, tummy time. The only thing david couldn't do until he was out of the shoes for some time was the exersaucer-which really was no biggie as he didnt have the head control yet!! good luck, kathleen mom to david fab 12/7 bcf > > Thank you to EVERYONE who responded regarding the Markells and blisters. > > Ethan has been in his shoes since Friday and he seems to be doing just fine -- better than his mommy!
