It should be brown spotted or more than that.. look like a cow. When you peel it, the banana inside should be soft and you should be able to mash it by hand easily. What is the gauge for knowing when a banana is ripe enough. I've read there is no green on the banana and it has to have brown spots, but how many? I'm probably being paranoid, but I don't know if the bananas I've been eating are ripe enough. Does anyone perhaps have a picture of a ripe enough banana?

yellow stem, brown and spotty, when you peel it, it's pretty and white.
