Guest guest
Hey everyone! Lucas had his first cast change today and Dr. Ponseti said his feet look good. Instead of doing the original 5 casts, he's only doing 2 more (including todays) and a tenotomy (only for the left foot) on the 18th. So, they'll be home a week early! I'm so excited, I can't wait to hold him again. My husband said he did great and didn't cry at all during the recasting- just fussed a little. Dr. Ponseti is so sweet- he told my husband that we have a beautiful baby. Right now the right foot is doing better than the left, but he said overall the left will end up better since he had the surgery on the right. Dr. Ponseti ordered Lucas' brace and after the tenotomy we'll take the casts off at home and he'll be in the brace 23/1. Then we see Dr. Ponseti again in 2 months (I'm going to that one)! I guess then he'll decide if we keep the 23/1? Does anyone know? I can't wait to put him in the brace without him screaming- like he did with the last one. Another question: How easy was it for your children to learn to pull up in the brace? Did you have to show them how first, and if so, how'd you do it? I can pull him up all day, but I don't know if that's how he'd actually pull himself up- ya know? Thanks! Jenn
Guest guest
I am so glad Lucas is responding so well. That is great news! I would love to meet that man someday. He seems truly like an angel on earth. Kailee 7-00 Ean 6-03 Isaac 7-05 (unilateral right clubfoot) > > Hey everyone! Lucas had his first cast change today and Dr. Ponseti > said his feet look good.
