Guest guest
Here are 2 prior posts on this. I haven't called and verified on the Skintastic she mentioned , but others have mentioned it too. (LJs mom) on LOng Island New York * Yes, according to my book mosquitos are repelled by B vitamins, especially thiamine, which are excreted through the skin. Foods rich in this are: brown rice, brewer's yeast, blackstrap molasses, fish (leaving out wheat germ). Or you can take supplements. Natural insecticides to keep bugs at bay are goldenseal, tea tree oil, garlic, brewer's yeast (rubbed on skin). Also, sugar will cause the skin to give off a sweet smell that attracts mosquitos (for that matter anything sweet smelling, perfume, cosmetics etc). >Off Skintastic is safe. Also I read somewhere that children that are low in >some kind of vitamin ( I think it is B ) seem to get more bug bites because >mosquitos are attracted to that. Sounds weird but I remember hearing >something like that last summer. On Mon, 13 Aug 2001 06:52:42 -0700 Cannon writes: > Help! Guest guest
Jen, Hi Hope all is well getting ready for camping, I know how hectic that can be. This is the repelent I use for my son Mason. It is NOT a spray, it is a lotion. It works great but stinks like the dickens. it is called ALL TERRAIN it contains no deet. The ingredients are as follows:citronella oil, peppermint oil, cedar oil, lemongrass oil, geranium oil, water, aloe, glycerin(it is coconut based),beeswax, soybean oil, sorbitol, xanthum gum, silica, propylparaben, methylparaben. It is gluten free, the company states it is corn free (minus xanthum gum), but due to the methyparaben and sorbitol, I am leery on the corn free base so I just put it on my sons clothes. It works like a charm. but remember, it smells STRONG!!! hope this helps. Oh, for a 4oz. bottle it is $7.45 Debbie > Help!
