dear lori et all,

sadly, this seems to be more the norm then an exception. i too have gained 25

pounds from my healthiest wt. and i am simply miserable. i have been reading

a great deal of the book southbeach diet..... because it is very similiar to

atkins but seems a bit easier to live with over the long run.

i have not decided which of the two i going to choise, but my mind MUST be

made up by 8 a.m. tomorrow morning when i will begin to GED RID OF FOREVER these

25 pounds grrrrrr

i'm not writing this because misery loves company, but man, this is such a

common thread. i would never mention names but a male friend of mine was really

the poster boy on these lists years ago, and he is struggling BIG TIME.

i never dreamed i would be having such a difficult time.

good luck on your journey.... we need luck, patience, forgiveness,

discipline, heck... anything that it will take, i will do.... i have a treadmill

in my

second bedroom, a wt. machine and an abs machine. i plan on taking ALL of the

dry cleaning off the machines tonight and move my arse and work them as they

were meant to be worked.

god bless

smiles from

Add me to the list of regainers. About 30 pounds. :( Dh, nearly 100

regained. Don't ever think " it won't happen to ME " because it can. We were

one of the poster couples of wls, having it 3 weeks apart and losing tons.

This was 3 years ago. We were " never " going to hurt our pouch with

carbonation, caffeine, sugar, fats, carbs. We walked miles and miles

everyday. This was before he was working 80 hrs a week plus college.

Dh started protein (he can only have soy) and has lost about 5 in the last

couple weeks. He knows he needs to increase his water as 20 oz a day isn't

cutting it. This is something I need to work on too as I know I'm lucky to

get even that much in.

I've lost 4 lbs in a couple weeks. I had just started doing protein shakes

and it was helping me off the sugars/carbs. However, our children enjoyed

them so much I ran out before my next order came in last week. Now I'm off

track, hungry ALL the time, craving sugar (and I thought I had reset my

" dump-o-meter " - but found out I can consume A LOT of sugar). Stress and

being overtired does it to us too, we're dealing with both.

I " m grateful for this list, that even though I've felt we were more like wls

" flunkies " than grads, I am gleaning support, ideas and encouragement from

the other posts/grads.

p.s. I " m also dealing with severe anemia with my pcp as I'm not too

interested in our surgeon.
