Sleeping meds will never give you a good night's sleep. The sooner

you can get off them, the better. This comes from a person who has

trouble sleeping sometimes. I take amitripytline, which is a low dose

antidepressant, not for depression, but to " unwind " me before I fall

asleep and allow me to sleep through the night. It is often

prescribed for people who are " clenchers " .

If you don't feel sore and don't swell up in the morning, anytime is

ok to sleep flat (although for newbies, I'd follow your surgeon's

orders as too much pressure on the jaws might not be a good idea). If

you're concerned, talk with your surgeon.
