Guest guest
I am working on it Liane I am taking those baby steps now. But I think I am getting better. You know I dont know you but I know that if I were sick I would want you to be my nurse. You truly are a kind person!!!!! Lisbeth " Lili F. I wonder if a year from now I will be much nicer to myself. I can relate, Lisbeth.. I can definitely relate. I have not been under 200 lbs since I was in Junior High.. or even younger (to be honest, I refused to be weighed between the ages of 9 & 13). I wish we had ALL known about the DS sooner.. I'm 10 years ahead of you in age, & I'd have cheerfully skipped all the foot & knee pain & big spider veins that have appeared in those years... Lisbeth, be nicer to yourself NOW, honey.. I know its hard to do, but people take their cues on how to treat you from how you treat yourself.. if you're always knocking yourself, then that gives them permission to knock you, too.. and you deserve better! It took me years to figure that out.. but its worked since pretty well.. Its not easy, though.. sometimes I slip & get all down on myself, but I make myself (or one of my loving friends does) ease off. You just deserve better, OK?? Hugs, Liane =) ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
I agree Dawn. The great thing about this surgery is that that 1) You become healthier and 2) You look better. And because of 1+2 = 3) you feel better about yourself. And I think that is one of the great gifts of this surgery. Actually every one who has this surgery gives this gift to themselves. Lisbeth Dr. Macura June 25, 2001 -41 lbs For me, when I hit under 200 is when I found the surgery truly amazing. Right then I decided that if this surgery kept me under 200 for the rest of my life fairly easily, I would be happy. I have lost more, but that has just been icing on the cake. It was when I got to 199 that I felt normal and healthy. Which looking good is a byproduct of this surgery but the real purpose for me was being normal and healthy.
