my surgery was yesterday...

Hiya,

Thanks to all who've posted here... I have never posted but find your words

helpful and

interesting.

I just had my surgery yesterday. My bottom jaw was moved forward 5mm. My dr.

said that

I would be back at work in 7-10 days. I work for myself so I really need to be

back on my

feet asap. Right now, my face is in pain and the bottom half of my formerly thin

face is

about as wide as a football. Is this normal? It's HUGE!!! How long am I going to

look like

this? Also,my throat is killing andit is hard to swallow.. how long will this

last??? I don't

feel too terrible and I am waiting for my boyfriend to return from the drug

store withmy

pain meds. This honestly sucks but I am pretty sure I will feel better in a

little while. I wish

I could take some more time off but I can't.

FYI--- having the braces was less self concious for me than having crooked

teeth... also,

while right now is the absolute worst, it can't be that bad if I am coherent

enough to be

writing this. right?
