Guest guest
It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad. Seems like some days they listen and other days they don't. My long term memory seem to be fairly intact, where as my short term memory is Swiss cheese. I am going to try to go back to work at the end of the month, but sort of not sure how my boss and co workers will look at me. I know I am not the same as before. How does one deal with that. Guest guest
Hi, I know what you mean about feeling like sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't. I was told that I have a cognitive deficit, although sometimes I feel they don't believe me or I should say they don't seem to think it has much effect. My boss and coworkers don't seem to notice either. The neuro pysch said I have good coping mechanisms or something so maybe there is hope. The only bad thing was they said maybe I should rethink attempting to get a PhD in neuroscience and look into something less stressful. Guest guest
I've told my story before so bear with me if you've already read it. Mine began with being found in the floor after being there for 3 days. They did an MRI and thought I'd had an aneurysm. They sent me to another hospital and found out I had hydrocephalus. They did surgery and put in a shunt and I got meningitis. I was in two hospitals for a total of 5 weeks, did months of pt and took classes to return to work after 9 months. Everything was going ok for several years and I started getting the bee sting feelings & went to the doc. She sent me to a neuro to rule out MS. After a couple of years I got a different neuro & after a ton of blood tests & MRI's he sent me to see Dr B and I got the NS diagnosis. I have brain lesions also that are clogging my ventricles. The Cytoxin isn't helping the 4th ventricle which is trying to close. BUMMER. I've been battling MRSA all summer with the surgery on my elbow still trying to heal. That's my story & I'll quit rambling for now. Join our Sock Challenge for Orphans in Kazakhstan http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Mittens_ for_Akkol/ grannylunatic@... MRI showed lesions so they diagnosed MS, then I got bilateral panuveitis so they scanned me looking for sarcoid and couldn't find it so back to MS, this for 5 years. Then a galium scan they found it in my lymph nodes in my chests. But it turns out that before the neurological stuff started I had those red welts on my shins but they were misdiagnosed too.I go to the gym to try and keep everything moving but I have had to start using a walking stick all the time this year. Now my right leg is starting to go and they are suggesting I get a walking frame.I don't know why but Í've become really upset and angry since being rediagnosed just a few weeks ago, even though I've had this thing for years.Rach> > > > > > From: brianryan_99 <brianryan_99@ ...>> > Subject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and Sarcoid> > To: Neurosarcoidosis@ yahoogroups. com> > Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 2:35 AM> > > > > > > > > > > > > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad. Guest guest
, I have to pipe in about Bucket List. Fantastic movie - made me cry and that is something I don't do much. When they were showing the side effects of chemo in one of the scenes, it really brought back some unwanted cytoxan memories but it was well worth it. Keep knitting girlie! Rick, Do what you can and try not to dwell on the reading issue; I think it just makes the problem worse. Have you tried Reader's Digest or any of their condensed books? I am an avid reader and when their are times of confusion, I read RD and other magazines. I take an indepth Bible study and I use to rip through it now it might take me the entire week to barely be able to get it done. I do have to read things over and over. But I do not have the problem all the time and when I am feeling good, I read as many books as I can. I read the whole Twilight Series this summer and the Dean Koontz enstein series also. Now I am back to magazines. So just don't give up hope. Also, I just thought about books on tape/cd. Have you tried those yet? My library has a ton! Take care everyone. Terri G. > > Rick > Trying to figure out what to do with all the time can get confusing sometimes. I do alot of charity knitting when I'm not feeding the shopaholic side of me. LOL I have lot of requests and plenty of yarn to keep me busy for quite some time. I haven't seen the bucket list movie yet. I guess I should put it on my movie bucket list! I can't believe come November it's been 5 years since I last went to work! > Join our Sock Challenge for Orphans in Kazakhstan > http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/Mittens_ for_Akkol/ > > > grannylunatic@... > > > > > ________________________________ >
Guest guest
Jackie, My newest thing is I forget to finish my sentence. My husband will look at me and ask me if I realized that I didn't finish my sentence and by that time I forget what I am talking about and give up. Does anyone else stutter like I do when they get tired? Guest guest
When gets tired or is having a not so good day she often has undeterminable language. Meaning that it is extremely hard to understand anything. Yet other times usually early on in the day she is much better. One of the biggest issues we have is that she forgets whole words and what she is trying to say. I am going to look into the nintendo and am considering flash cards to help hermattSubject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and SarcoidTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Saturday, October 17, 2009, 8:27 PM Jackie, My newest thing is I forget to finish my sentence. Guest guest
My doctor is going to let me go back to wot on Nov 4 part time for a week and a half and then back to FT, of course all depending on how I do.I still have to talk to my boss. Went back to eye doctor today as well. I see my doc the day before I go back to one last go around before my 4 hour days start, so i hope and pray they go well. I am still a bit frustrated and still a bit off balance. They are letting me drive now! I am happy about that. Still headaches, dizziness, well you guys know the drill. Frustrating as we all know. . God Bless. > > > > > > > > > From: brianryan_99 <brianryan_99@ ...> > > > Subject: Re: Short Term/Long Term Menory and Sarcoid > > > To: Neurosarcoidosis@ yahoogroups. com > > > Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 2:35 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > It seems like some doctor visits are good and bad.
