Guest guest
I imagine a small piece of steak (chewed very well) is at least 6 months away from what I read. lol Maybe longer, won't know until I graduate to a Post Op. > > Hi all. Guest guest
Hi . I am finding that I can eat pretty much anything I could eat pre-op now. In much smaller amounts of course and a lot of the foods I can eat I do not wish to eat any longer. I had a problem with red meats for about 6 months post-op but now I can handle it fine as long as it's not overcooked or dry. My thoughts will be with you on Tuesday. In the meantime just try to focus on all the good that will come of this. I know the nerves can really do a number on ya pre-op. Guest guest
Thanks Colleen, yes the nerves are taking their toll on me. lol I think I'll be fine but off of the aspirin a day regimen and no anti- depressants combined with a pre ordained 3 days in the ICU is just giving me too many things to stress about. I know the pluses and that is keeping me 'okay' but you all have helped more than anything. Thank you > > Hi all. Guest guest
As far as pre-op.. Did anyone else have to do a clear liquid diet? My doctor wanted me to do it 1 week pre-op, and it sucks. (I am getting hungry) I do not plan on going off of it, I was just curious.. I can have smoothies and protein shakes or soup for meals. Thanks much! Staci 2 days til surgery! Getting nervous and excited! > Hi . > I am finding that I can eat pretty much anything I could eat pre-op > now. Guest guest
Boy do I feel for you, I only had to do clear liquids 24hrs before surgery. That one day was terrible because I was nervous for the surgery and wanted to stress eat but could not. Can't imagine a whole week on clear liquids before surgery. Good luck on the surgery I know you will do fine. B. Surgery date 7/23/03 310/190/150? BTC/ Columbus OH Dr.Stelmack Open RNY Re: Re: All about tolerance I suppose...but YAY!!! As far as pre-op.. Guest guest
I only had to do clear liquids 12 hours before surgery. Every surgeon is different though. Mine didn't consider smoothies or protein as clear liquids He said they were full liquids, and post-op, I couldn't have them til the second week. Sending thoughts and prayers your way for an uneventful surgery and quick recovery. in Indiana Open RNY 2/25/04 265.4/192/135 5'5 " Age 28 -- Re: Re: All about tolerance I suppose...but YAY!!! Guest guest
Do you know what my favorite treat is in the whole world now. Especially because I was a hard core Diet Pepsi drinker before surgery but carbonation is such a big NO NO now. I love to go to 7-11 and get a small Diet Pepsi slurpee. They are such a good fun treat. Mmmm! Just thought I'd share. All about tolerance I suppose...but YAY!!! > Hi all.
