Guest guest
Hey everyone, I went to my ortho today and he is cool with my surgery date...hopefully the OS will be too. My ortho seems very confident in the surgery... he said that I cant bite into a big mac for two weeks.... (as I htought to myself... what kinda rock is he on, I think I'll eb lucky to bite into a bg mac after 3 months, let alone two weeks). I expected a bigger deal though at my last appointment - all they did was a couple xrays and some mug shots.... they werent impressed that I wasn't willing to take out my ear ring, but oh well... they can deal with it for the $$$ I am paying them. The surgical hooks went on, they look awful, but then again, the braces havent looked much better for the last year so I'll live I guess...luckily I am graduating from university soon and most of the people I see on a daily basis wont be seeing me that much anymore... so new people can mee the updated looking me. Anyways, thats my storyt, just needed to tell somone I guess.... 36 days and COUNTING TIL SLICE AND DICE!!! :) PS> I am so making a shirt that says somthing along the lines of " Imagine what the other guy looks like " to wear out of the hospital.. My recovery has taken the song " Tomorrow " from the Movie Annie as it's theme song. Feeling better is always a day away.... yea, I am splinted but not yet banded. That will come later from what I understand. I do have two tiny incisions on each cheek for that screwdriver. One stitch each that come out thursday. I will be glad to get these bandaids off my face so I can wash it completely before my complexion nosedives along with everything else. I already now have a miserable itchy rash from an adverse reaction to the antibiotics. I think I have lost at least 10 pounds in the past week, if not more. I am so demoralized right now that any appetite I had is gone for the time being. My swelling externally seems to be going down, but internally feels as strange and huge as ever. I am all yellow-green and icky along my jawline and neck and chest. It was nice to remove the chin bandage definitely, but very odd to see the person looking back at me in the mirrow. The swelling seemed worse with out it for me. But I am getting used to everything. I was scrubbing forever to remove the adhesive off of my skin. I almost dug out my bottle of GooGone for it. keep in tough and let us know what you are up these days. Hope you're continuing to do well. Pam is in competition with you now for recovery. See what your car washing spurned? Take care, katja PS How did your day without talking go??
