Guest guest
Ok. We're back from seeing the ortho. He checked Marcus's leg/foot. He couldn't understand where the popping sound could have come from. Everything checked out ok. Marcus's foot looked good. To me, it really doesn't look much different than it looked before this cast...maybe just a tad more straight on the outside of the sole. I had emailed Dr. P and he seemed confident in our ortho's decisions, so I decided to just leave it up to him to decide what to do..whether to put on another cast or just come back to the shoes. He did a very thorough exam of the foot and seemed confident in just going back to the shoes. He said the tibia bone was in a good outward position, which means it will help keep the foot in good alignment. He seemed to think that the c-shape (adductus) had corrected to where it would not be of any problem. When I get a chance (maybe tomorrow) I will take some pictures of the foot and post them. I'd like to know what you all think. Thanks! wrote: Good luck with your appt and hope this cast did the trick! I would have taken the cast off too if I kept hearing poping sounds like that goin on! Glad you didn't have a heart attack with dh sawing off the cast lol, good for him! Let us know what your ortho has to way =) & Grace 18mos urcf FAB 13hrs > > We took off Marcus's cast Saturday night due to my worry of the popping sound I was hearing from within the cast. We weren't really supposed to take it off until Sunday, but since I had the s, I figured we would just put him in the shoes until the appt. with the ortho. By the way, my husband was home this time so we soaked the casts in some warm, soapy water. My husband unwrapped as much of the cast as he could and then, (to my horror!) he said he had a little electric saw that he would use to cut off the rest of the cast. I thought he was nuts, but he kept insisting that it was similar to the cast saw they use at the Dr's office. I was sweating bullets the whole time, but he took it off in less than 2 minutes and without any problems. What a relief! Anyway, the foot looks good. The toes seemed a little curled down again (probably just from the cast again). It's just really hard for me to tell if the foot is 100% straight (without that c-shape). I did the " V " test and I > didn't notice any difference between his left and right feet. But then again, it's hard for me to judge the foot when it is just barely out of the cast. I think it takes a few days before the shape of the foot really becomes visible. It does look better though, so I will just wait to see what the ortho says this afternoon. I didn't notice anything unusual in the knee or ankle area so I really have no idea where that popping in the cast came from. > > Mom to Marcus 11/05 LCF - s 23/7 > > --------------------------------- > > What are the most popular cars?
