Why do you think you have to lose 10 lbs a month?? Remember we all lose differently...I think you're doing great! Remember you have an 18 to 24 month window, so relax, try to eat enough so you dont get into starvation mode and focus on living and enjoying life. You're going to lose and I really have faith in that!! Guest guest
, Eat More, LOSE MORE! I don't think there is anything written in stone that we are suppose to lose 10 lbs a mth. Try to focus on how your old clothes fit and how your body feels now that you have lost 40lbs. Are you exercising? walking etc?if you are not eating enough, you are probably not getting enough protein to your muscles and your metabolism is slowing down!On the contrary, if you are exercising, you could possibly see a rise in the # on the scale due to the fact that muscle weighs more than fat. all the more reason why you should let your clothes be your guide and not the scale. also try to say or think to yourself , I hope the weight comes off or i want this weight to come off at a faster weight, NOT THIS WEIGHT IS NOT COMING OFF! NOT! I THINK I NEED A REVISION BECAUSE OFTEN WE GET WHAT WE DON'T WANT. IN OTHER WORDS, FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT, AND NOT WHAT YOU DON'T! THE MIND HAS A WAY OF CONTROLLING THE BODY FOR THE GOOD OR THE BAD. SO BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND> DON'T CONDEMN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS CELEBRATE IT! RECOGNIZE YOUR $)LBS AND THE SURGERY FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS! >A SUCESS NOT A FAILURE> ALSO CERTAIN MEDS CAN INTERFERE WITH WL> KAREN< I SAY TO YOU CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE! Guest guest
Please don't lose heart, Cindy. There are a lot of us out here who have gone through the same thing. I stopped losing weight altogether after about 6 months. It was about six years before I could get my revision, but it was so worth it. Generally people who get revisions do really well afterwards and lose the rest of their weight. Not only do we get tools that work, but we are MOTIVATED! You just have to pick yourself up and get going on fixing it. It's not your fault. Many insurance companies will cover revisions. You will have to do some research and make sure you find a surgeon who has done a lot of revisions and knows what he/she is doing. I'm sure there are people on this list who can help you with this. Anybody out there? Barbara Jean revisions > I have always thought my lack of weight loss was my fault. Until recently. I wish I could get some people here to share their experiences with me. I do feel like a failure. It's very difficult to read the posts in this group about people who are now thin, have had lots of plastic surgery and are out there living their lives. Guest guest
I would also love to know the answer to this. In a year and a half, I have lost 70 pounds... I have been bouncing up and down the same 3-4 pounds for about 6 months. I get very frustrated sometimes that I could cry.. and my surgeon tells me that I may just have to live with that... afterall, he never promised me I'd lose all the weight I wanted to. Yes, I wanted to choke him. All I know is I'm bypassed 83cm. I don't know about the common channel. I would love to hear more about people who had revisions. I too, thought it was all my fault even though I KNOW I do as I'm suppose to. Tigger > I have always thought my lack of weight loss was my fault. Until recently. Guest guest
I can't believe how little I can eat compared to everyone else (every around me is amazed also). All my friends and family think that I should be dropping weight like crazy. The last two times I was at my surgeon's office he made me feel it was all my fault and I was not fitting in with his " numbers " and I left in tears. I had been using fit day and eat less than 30 grams carbs and around 800 calories. I'm almost a year and a half out of surgery. I do have much better health now, so I guess that is a blessing. I still also have a very sensitive pouch... no bread, pasta, rice or anything like that... it comes right back up. I do 3 shakes a day and supplement with protein and a little veg or fruit (very little) on the side. I feel at this point it's just plain insanity. I am glad to know that I'm not the only one though. I started at 272 and now weigh between 200 and 203. For some damn reason I can't break the 200 mark. I had lap RNY and was bypassed 83 cm. I've also been VERY overweight my whole life, I wonder if that does make a difference. Hugs, Tigger
