Guest guest
I was so happy with my news yesterday and the excitement of moving. Today as I stepped in the school building (a beautiful historic spanish archetecture style school) and I realized it was a different story. My wonderful coworkers that have done so much for me through all this surgery came one by one....The match ceremony is a big deal here and was on the news and in the paper. As I told them the news and my principal of course it began to be a weepy day. Then I leave at 10:00 to go to my 3 week check up (did't have time for 1 boost yet) and as my resident dr. is checking incisions it is burning around the area of the stitches around my upper lip. I was brave. He says everything looks good (but is paying particular close attention to my lower left side). Then the OS comes in and checks everything again...ouch rubbing that left side. When he pulls the long q tip out it's all bloody. He tells me that the right side is all healed up but on the left side part of the bone is exposed around the incision....Then he says to the resident maybe you should clip some of those stitches (at the top which were't dissolving too well)....Uh oh.....I'm not feeling so well. I'll be brave, I'll be brave...I won't cry like I did last time. So....he lifts my upperlip (the most tender part) and starts clipping away...aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh When he was done I didn't hear what he was saying something about irrigating the left side yatta yatta yatta get me out here!!!!!!!!! I know my face was stark white because even my arms were as white as a ghost. My stomach was churning and the room was spinning. I finally got out of there and before I was leaving a woman down the hall was screaming and crying in pain. It didn't help me at all. I was like a bad dream! I didn't know if I could drive home so I went to a bathroom and against my usual judgement plopped down right on a public toilette seat. I felt faint! I made it home although I have to go back to work (but I need to settle down and get some boost in me). What a nightmare! I can't imagine getting the wires off which by the was is scheduled April 1st!!! Wouldn't you know it would be on April fools day! Knowing my luck the OS will say April fools 5 more weeks! The thing is childbirth was a breeze for me all 15 hours of it even the first 10 hours before the epidural. Well, to make matters worse I gave my OS my short list of questions and he poopooed them by saying we'll talk about all this next time. The resident seemed to notice that he poo pooed them and picked up my list and answered everyone after my OS left. Unfortunately, he answered them last so I was in that sickly state where I couldn't really hear or comprehend anything....the bones exposed! This is why my husband is the doctor and I am the elementary teacher. I can't take it. Jane
Guest guest
I'm sorry, Jane. This sucks. I hope your left side heals quickly, and you won't be subjected to these painful checkups. > > I was so happy with my news yesterday and the excitement of moving. > Today as I stepped in the school building (a beautiful historic > spanish archetecture style school) and I realized it was a different > story. Guest guest
Thanks, my husband says he thinks its because I have always eaten on my left side (more wear and tear on that side) I do that because my right side is still numb. But it makes sense so I'm going to use my right side to eat for the next couple of weeks.
