Guest guest
Alice, You may find a surgeon who will perform the surgery with a low albumin level but it won't be safe for you. Now is the time to begin working with your PCP to find ways to bring your albumin levels up. I am not that familira with this but perhaps thru nutrition and supplements you can get these levels up. > Hi All. I can hardly write this news...still teary-eyed..I got a call at > 11AM Friday from Ivonne at Dr. Gagner's office stating that my surgery > scheduled for Monday the 24 has been canceled " indefinitely " because Dr. > Gagner wants to consult with his colleagues as to whether he can do the > surgery on someone with serum albumn levels which hover between low normal > and slightly below normal. So, I started out rather 'slow' (well, still not a bad rate) when I lost 15 lbs at three weeks post-op. I've had my plateaus (and I'm sure I'll have more), times when I seriously worried whether or not I would still lose or 'stall out', but I can say that, happily, I'm still losing and feelin' fabu! :) So, I'm living proof to any pre-ops and struggling post-ops that the surgery DOES work and we WILL get where we want to be! I'm counting down now at only 8 lbs away from losing 100 lbs!!! YAHOO!!! I'm going to Outback Steakhouse for the Prime Rib, man! LOL Thanks so much for your encouraging and kind words! I've been so stressed out about this terrorism stuff (living here in Brooklyn) and I've had some painful episodes of gas in the past two weeks (brought on by stress and IBS - ouch!)... It's such a pleasant surprise to see my body is 'working' and the surgery is doing it's job regardless! all the best, TEresa lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt.
