Guest guest
Hi Holly, What a good suggestion. I've always wondered why RMH didn't do that. One thing my kids loved doing was going to the lower city park just down the main road from RMH. This park has great walking paths, so it was nice with 's wheelchair and a wonderful little city amusement park. It's very small with just 5 rides, but it is cute. They have a darling train that goes around in the park on a real miniature track and the kids loved it. They also have an airplane ride, a fish ride, a ferris wheel with the cages, and a merry go round. The rides were in really good shape and were only 75 cents each. All these rides are meant for the little kids. It was a lot of fun. We loved going to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. There is just so much to do. I'll have to look up the name of the cute little town that has a lot of trains. the Train comes every year there and you can get the schedule if you log onto the website. loves trains so I took her on the " Ski Train " in town that goes to the football games. One time we rode it to the game and the next time we just rode it round trip without going to the game. There is so much to do and I know we haven't done a lot of things. There's some neat Amish country out there that's fun to drive to and interesting to explore. I'll have to pull out some of my stuff that we did and send you more ideas. I'm so excited for you all to bring Mia home. You will have a fabulous time in China. I would love to go back soon, that was such a special time for us. I really enjoyed talking to you on the phone. Take care, Joyce > > For those of you who have stayed in Iowa....is is possible to have a Iowa file with recommendations or tips when staying at the RMH. Someone mentioned the mall.
