NEED ADVICE FOR VERY RESISTANT YEAST AND BACTERIA PROBLEMS!

I was wondering if anyone else on the list has had a similar experience with

their child. My son has very bad constipation/diarrhea problems, i.e., he does

not have a bowel movement for days and when he does they are very soft and

unformed. We had him tested for yeast and bacteria and he came back positive for

yeast and clostridia. He has been on Pro Bio Gold, Culturelle, saccramyces

boulardi, and diflucan for months and had a course of vancomycin three months

ago. None of this is helping and his latest Organic Acid Test from Great Plains

shows DHPPA levels of over 1200 (range is from 0-150). This is even higher than

before we did the vancomycin. I don't know what to do anymore. I know all of

these gut problems are totally messing up his behavior-he is very stimmy and

often quite spacey and in the past month he has started biting again-something

that we haven't seen in over a year! He goes through alternating periods of

sweetness/happiness and then will fly into a rage for seemingly no reason. He

will be 4 next month.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do next? Should we take him to a

gastroenterologist? If yes, can anyone recommend a good one in the NYC area. I'm

desperate!

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

You probably already tried nystatin right? Did this help at all i hear it

generally kills off the yeast problem. Don't know myself we're about to try

it . Sharon C.
