I was wondering how much weight you guys lost after having surgery &

what type of conditions you were under (bands or wires, how long,

etc.). I'm about 5'6 " , 115lbs. and have a few weeks left before both

upper and lower, plus palatal expansion. I will be banded shut and

have permanent surgical straps to hold my jaw in place. Just

wondering how much weight I should expect to lose so I know if I

should try to " bulk up " within the next few weeks.

I lost about 8 lbs. the first week and a half...mostly water weight. I

leveled off at about that point but continued to slowly drop 2 or 3

more in the last 3 weeks. I have been banded shut for almost 5.5 weeks.

I did not try to gain weight beforehand. I originally thought I should

have but I think I would have been just as weak and cranky anyway. I am

embracing the skinniness. I am 5 " 2, started at 103lbs, and now I'm at

about 92. Pretty skinny but, you can never be too rich or too thin,

right? besides, I feel taller with my saddle bags on a temporary

vacation.
