Guest guest
>>>... Lately, there have been many days where I go through the majority of the day till @ 5 PM with only yogurt for breakfast and a protein drink for lunch and I feel empty, like I need to put fuel in the furnace (so to speak). I never get hunger pains, but just feel that my body is telling me it needs protein. <<< I don't count calories, I just make sure that I don't get more than 6 grams of sugar per meal and I really limit the refined carbs per day. So I don't have a comment about calories. However, I do have a suggestion. Instead of starting your day with yogurt (most have lots of sugar), why not start it with a protein shake. I find that if I start my day with a solid base of protein, I have more energy and think it gives my body the protein boost it needs after not having nourishment all night long. Guest guest
My nutrionist reccommeded that after a year or so you should be at 1200-1600 calories a day. I went and had my metobolic testing done and it let me know that my body has changed and will require 1600 calories a day to maintain my weight as it is. Since I would like to loose about 15 more pounds I have been keeping to about 1400 a day. I find that I do most of my eating at night as well, but I remember all those years in weight watchers when they tell you that you need calories in your body to be able to turn on the fuel burning... maybe if you could eat more during the day it might help Just a thought Cunningham LAP RNY 6.5.02 Dr HUP 261/158 size 24/size 6 > I am a proximal RNY- does anyone know how many calories I should be > getting per day to maintain and/or lose weight? Guest guest
, I think that those " rules of thumb " about calories per pound of body weight just don't work for us. I consume thousands of calories daily and maintain......it's probably because of some malabsorption, lots of weight training, and my metabolism. But, we're all so incredibly different in terms of surgeries and how those surgeries affect us. Journaling is a great thing to do, and you may have just discovered that 2000 calories is what it takes to maintain your weight, since you decreased the calories and lost. You're going to discover more than anyone can tell you. in Austin RNY April 1998 Daily Calorie Count?? > I am a proximal RNY- does anyone know how many calories I should be > getting per day to maintain and/or lose weight?
