Guest guest
Larissa, Did you note that ee has pointed you to Dr. Dobbs in St. Louis (Shriners)? NOT in Louisana. She's in Oklahoma too and would be an excellent resource for you as she has two boys with CF, and one on the way. Check into the posts she's sent recently in response to your questions and Dr. Dobbs's info is in there. Email her directly if needed. At Shriners you pay nothing. But that doesn't mean all Shriners are created equal as far as practicing the Ponseti Method. If ee says don't go to Louisiana, don't go. She knows your area best. Ask her about her first son's treatment... she had to learn the hard way. Don't let that be you. Your best bet for this little boy is to get him to Dr. Dobbs because there are no docs in OK who know this method well enough to treat his foot. Dr. Dobbs will. You can count on that. He's had a rough start in life, and if you can give him a good foot he'll have a much better chance at being all that he can be despite that. What if he leaves your care and goes to someone who may not treat him as kindly and loving as you? With a bum foot... I can't even imagine what kind of disaster that would be to his self image. Do everything in your power to get his foot fixed without surgery, and Dr. Dobbs is your answer. You just have to get there. Ask ee, she's going up there in a few weeks with her third CF child. She has your answers. I tried to call a couple of times today, but no answer. Let me know when best to call and I'll try again tomorrow.
