Guest guest
I've been lurking on this group for months, but am finally an official " graduate " ! I had open RNY on June 10, 2002 by Bruce Thayer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts. Starting weight was 281, BMI 48; now I'm 155, BMI 27. I'd like to lose another 20-30 pounds, but as long as I don't have a regain I'm not going to complain even if I don't get down too much further. At this point I consider the procedure a success and am very glad I did it. I was fortunate enough to have no complications or issues. I can eat everything and in close to normal volumes, which worries me about the future. I see so many people struggling and wonder if that's my destiny, but am trying to be optimistic and develop good habits of exercise and careful eating. I hope that reading these groups will help me stay on track. If anyone coming to Boston for the conference would like to come to Harvard Square in Cambridge for lunch or coffee, e-mail me.
