Guest guest
& - From all I've read and seen online, the pyloric valve does continue to work, & for that reason, the BPD/DS is the preferred procedure. I am not knocking the straight BPD, but the only folks who have gotten it recently (that I know of) got it because there was a complication during surgery where the pyloric region lost its blood supply. This tells me that the straight BPD is the #2 choice. Thank goodness it works so well, right? I know this is my opinion more so than fact, but I say go for the BPD/DS! I don't see how there is any higher risk of complications, but then, I stopped comparing the two once *I* felt comfy. What does your " gut " tell you? Both are good procedures, but there IS a reason why the BPD/DS is being done more so than the BPD. I hope this helped.. I know how confusing this all is.. been there. Guest guest
I need help getting started again. I fear that I may have stretched > my pouch, because I can eat more than I could 3 or 4 months ago. Well, in my own experience I have found that a day or two of protein drinks takes care of this. Once I start eating again I can hardly do more than a few bites. HTH, nancy P. Help!
