Hi

The UK Daily Mail today carried an article reporting the problems of flat head

syndrome in young babies . There is a result of a study by Irish researchers

championing pillows/mattresses made from baby adapted memory foam. The website

given is http://www.clevamama.com/products

What confuses me , is that pillows for babies was abandoned years ago as a

suffocation danger, yet now we have a flat head problem since SIDS back sleeping

campaign, pillows seem to be making a comeback. As long as you put a pillow

under a thin loose sheet, are they still dangerous once the baby can roll? I was

thinking this pillow might be useful after babies come out of their helmets , to

make it less likely the rounded head will flatten out again against a firm

mattress.

I

have something similar to this but it’s a mattress with the indention where the

head goes. It’s called the SleepCurve mattress and it has helped my son’s head.
