Beware the blood test! Although the blood test can be

a good indicator, it's important not to rule out

celiac just because your blood test comes back

negative. Mine came back negative, but my doc still

thinks I may have it and the only way to be sure is to

do a biopsy of the intestines. I haven't gotten

around to doing that yet (joy of joys) but I will soon

because I know it's important. Do the blood test, but

remember this.

Quite right...it is a screening only. In fact the biopsy is the only

accepted positive diagnosis. However the screening is about 85% accurate.

Note that even the biopsy isn't 100%. A lot depends on the skills of the

people taking and reading the sample.

It's also very important to note that neither of these tests will be

accurate if you are already gluten free.
