Guest guest
I know this doesn't pertain specifically to SCD, but for anyone who does green smoothies: how do you rotate your greens? I know your supposed to rotate according to family, but I can't find a good list of the different green families. Also, it's hard to find greens that are as yummy as spinach, chard, and beet greens, and whaddya know, they're all in the same family!! I've been trying to reduce my toxic load, so I want to try to rotate my greens more. Any tips? Peace =) Alyssa 15 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008 SCD June 2009 (restarted) Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!)
Guest guest
Why do you have to rotate the greens? I found an avocado/raspberry recipe if anyone wants it. I can’t do smoothies, but I rotate greens all the time. Have you tried green peas, beans, broccoli, sprouts, asparagus? I really meant greens like kale, chard, spinach, beet greens, dandelion greens, collards, etc...Not just green food =) Peace =) Alyssa 15 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008 SCD June 2009 (restarted) Chinese Herbs (not legal but helping!) Guest guest
Is there a particular place online that you go to find out which greens have which alkaloids? I know that weeds are recommended in a lot of green smoothie sites/books because of the nutrients they provide but I'm not sure they're SCD legal unfortunately. Not really. I just know that all the greens in one family have the same type of alkaloid, so if you find out which greens are in which family then you can find out what alkaloid they have. For instance, spinach, chard, and beet greens are all in the same family (bummer) so they all have oxalic acid.
