Guest guest
My ASD son was born with a variant of Tetralogy of Fallot. His difficulties began after vaccination for Hep B at 11days of age. He became unconsolable, refused to eat, began to breathe fast and we were assured by the cardiologists that it was not his heart. In hindsight, we know that he reacted to his vaccinations and because of his heart structure, his cardiac related symptoms were the most visible. He developed reflux and what we believe now to be food allergies/sensitivities but nobody recognized any of this as " autistic symptoms " .After 12 months of age (MMR and Influenza vax) he stopped responding to sound and lost what little language he had acquired after surgery. I believe these kids are especially vulnerable to ACQUIRE autism due to their heart conditions yet we were constantly assured of the safety of vaccinating our child and never told that it might not be a good idea to vaccinate him even though he has documented reactions to the vaccinations. I should further add that he was vaccinated twice while he had ear infections which we were not aware was not a good idea. Has your child had surgery or is one planned in the future? Our son is repaired and hopfully won't need any further intervention other than Digoxin for life. Wish we could say that about his autism.
