Guest guest
Hello to everyone out there, I'm two months post op and I was wondering exactly if someone could answer me this question. My cheek bones seem much more present and " stick out " much more than before. My question is do the cheek bones move when the upper jaw bone is moved during surgery or am I noticing my cheek bones much more because I lost over 10 pounds from the surgery. I figured it was from losing weight but wanted to hear from those that went through the surgery and recovery process. I was over 170 and I am now 158 and expected to lose weight since I couldnt chew food for 8 weeks. I just started to chew food again so hopefully I can get my weight back. Thanks in advance......and good luck to all those getting surgery in the near future. thanks,
Guest guest
Hi , I haven't had the surgery yet myself, but when I had my first meeting with my OS I'm pretty sure he said something about having more definition in my cheekbones after the upper surgery. I'll be having upper and lower in about a year and a half, so I'm thinking that I won't even recognize myself afterwards (hehe), but I was curious about that affect, too. I think I read somewhere that it's not uncommon to have your cheekbones look different, and even your nose and eyes to a degree, just because part of the foundation of your face - your upper jaw - has changed positions and it kind of " opens up " the rest of your face. Just out of curiousity, are you happy with the results so far? Is the cheekbones thing an " added bonus " or something you're thinking is not what you wanted? Congrats on your surgery!
