Guest guest
I'm lucky my dh grew up in a family of boys/men, very few girls. I grew up with only girls...and while we got hurt, nothing compared to a family of rough boys...so he is good about the blood spills around here. If I'm alone I handle it, but if he's here I immediately delegate! Putting the baby to sleep would worry me ten times more also. s. Husband nervous about tenotomy Okay everyone, Lucas' tenotomy is scheduled for the 18th. The one he had before (here) was done under anesthesia because the doc said it was barbaric not to. No sense in traumatizes the baby....and so on. So, as most of you know, my husband is in Iowa City with Lucas (without me ) and he's worried about the tenotomy. Said he wasn't going to be in there for it. I'm said I was pretty sure the parents were there too, but I'd double check. So, were you in there to hold and comfort? After I told him he may have to be there, he said he didn't think he could do it, for his sake. I told him he needed to be there for Lucas' sake. It's so hard, sometimes I want to tell him to suck it up and be there!!! This is the first time he's had to deal with everything- usually I've been the bad guy putting on the brace, taking him to appts, etc.... He said he didn't want Lucas to think he was the one hurting him. Any advice? Some good news- we're going to the s! Apparently they took molds of Lucas' feet last Friday in between casts and my husband " forgot " to tell me until yesterday. Just a week and a half!!! I can't wait. Lucas said hi to me on the phone! I'm going to squeeze like crazy when I see him. Jenn
Guest guest
Dr. Ponseti was so non-commital about it. We could stay in the room...or not. He put no pressure on us whatsoever either direction. s. I don't know what it's like in Iowa though, maybe they want the parents to stay anyway? Guest guest
My husband and I were both in the room for the tenotomy. At first, my husband said there was no way he would stay in there. But he did and the procedure was over so fast, he didn't even have time to squirm. In fact he even admitted afterwards that it wasn't so bad. It really only takes all of 5 minutes - a couple of minutes for the anesthetic to take effect, about a minute to get the setup ready and 2 minutes (if even that) for the actual tenotomy. > > Okay everyone, Lucas' tenotomy is scheduled for the 18th.
