Guest guest
my ortho surgeon told me that one of the contestants on " The Swan " should have gotten jaw surgery, instead of a chin implant.... what irks me about these shows is that they pick people who have no regard for themselves or their bodies.. why should a person that is negligent towards themselves and their body get over $100K in cosmetic surgery.... i suspect that if they do a followup on all those people they sucked over 50lbs of fat using lyposuction, they will find out they gained the weight back... bottom line: these people are simply used for ratings... i.e. take a fat person with bad teeth and skin and make them look better for ratings... also agree that i'm very cognizant of other people's bites and teeth now that i've had my surgery... there are a lot of bad bites out there!!! I had one ,but that's now corrected... :-) > > Does anyone on here feel like they are going through (or have > already gone through) an extreme makeover, like the ones on TV? Guest guest
I agree so much with these posts about the Extreme makeover programs. Indeed they often take total slobs (pardon the harshness) and do a bunch of quick fixes for ratings. Often these people really need so much more " real " work done, but pop an implant here, veneers there and " presto " they look " wonderful " . I don't think so. I've seen some of those " veneered " smiles and the teeth didn't even look like they fit the mouth anymore. Might as well get some fake play teeth at WalMart or something. It's a couple old adages here: " you get what you pay for " and " no pain no gain " . Distorted bites, crooked smiles, badly proportioned faces aren't fixed by implants, you have to fix the structure. > > > > Does anyone on here feel like they are going through (or have > > already gone through) an extreme makeover, like the ones on TV? > Ppl > > have already referenced this to me (which is a little rude! but I > > can certainly understand=) ~ not only will my facial structure > > change but I think there will be some other changes in my life for > > the better. > > > > Speaking of that show ~ I have seen SO MANY contestants who > > desperately needed jaw surgery but they all end up getting chin > > implants and veneers etc. It's sad!
