Guest guest
you can break up the time that he wears them over the next 24 hours. So, say you put them on tonight while he's awake if he's tolerating them well and take them off for sleep so he is comfortable (poor little guy! - hope he's feeling better soon!) Then, do part of the hours in the am tomorrow when he wakes up, give him some break and then try to get them on a little early tomorrow evening. You still get the required hours in the 24 hour period (or close to it), he just wears them a little bit longer tomorrow night because you start a bit early. HTH - give him kisses for us! Guest guest
Hi Tabitha, I don't know if you should leave the shoes off since we are early in this process ourselves but I wanted to tell you that my son got his adenoids out and tubes put in a couple of years ago and was in pain and fussy for about 24-48 hours and then was pretty much normal. We did tylenol and ibuprofen during that time and he did pretty well, although we had to keep giving it regularly...if I forgot a dose or was late with one I could tell he was in pain. Good luck and hope your little guy recovers quickly, Carol and , bcf, 10-27-05 Can I leave shoes off tonight? OK everyone, Karter had tubes put in and adeniods taken out at 7:00 this morning. It has been a very long day. He is still having some drainage from ears and nose. He does not seem very comfortable, but they did send us home saying that the drainage if minimal is normal. He is still very sleepy, but when not sleeping he is whiney(sp?). Would I be the worst mother if I left his shoes off tonight and waited for Sat. My husband and I are both off until Tuesday, so I was thinking he could have them on during the day. It is almost time to put them on. If he is screaming alot it can cause additional bleeding. Please if anyone is there let me know. Thank you Tabitha Brittanie 2-9-00 Karter 7-30-04 --------------------------------- Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. Guest guest
Kori Thanks for such a fast reply. He has the shoes on now and I am planning on leaving them on as long as I can. He has relapsed 4 times since birth, so we are very worried about shoes being off. As long as he doesn't scream for a long period of time the bleeding and drainage should be OK. I really wish my older one would have been sick more, so I would have been prepared for this child. Just amazing the difference in children, even when they come from the same place.
