Guest guest
Hi , Make sure it is calcium citrate. You should have been taking since surgery 1500 mg daily. The vitamin you are taking is it a mega vitamin or a high potency vitamin? It should be a vitamin that has more than the daily requirements. Are you taking your Vitamin B12 sublingual or injections. These things are so important to keep our bodies functioning well. I am not familiar with the vitamin called One but if it doesn't have more than 100% listed in the % in a majority of the vitamins recommended daily than it is not enough. Guest guest
Hi , Please, please, please call your dentist as soon as possible. Receding and bleeding gums are not to be taken lightly. I had to have periodontal surgery (not because of WLS - it was actually a couple of years before) - OUCH! and UGH! That scared me a lot - I know that gum disease can lead to losing teeth and will otherwise affect your general state of health. These days I am even more concerned since I found out that the infection can travel through the body and, for me, that is a special concern because of my new prosthetic knee. I don't mean to sound alarmist - I am just concerned. Take care, Kay (in San Leandro) open RNY 12/1/03 Junior wrote: Today at work, my gums were hurting really bad. So I went to the restroom and used a cold wet towel and pressed it against my gums. The next thing I know, my gums began to bleed and a thin layer started to peel off. God, I really don't know what to do. My gums have receded and my beautiful straight teeth now have gaps. Oh well, I hope as soon as I can eat real food, my gums should heal. I do take vitamins with the exception of calcium. I will go out and buy that today. I was taking an all-in-one vitamin...called One. any advise. Guest guest
I started the calcium citrate on Saturday. Thanks. I have been taking vitamin b12 (injections) but I had not for a couple of weeks. I will restart that this week. It is difficult for me to go in twice a week for the injections but will try harder. I have an appointment with my dentist on 30 Jun and I will discuss with her my troubles. Maybe she can help me further. Thank you all for your replies. I do appreciate your input. Guest guest
Hi , Is there anyway you can get the vitamin B 12 sublingual? You don't necessarily have to do the injection. I remember how painful those shots were from my younger days so if you could get the sublingual it would probably be easier in you.
