Guest guest
I am a psych-ARNP which is a psychiatriac nurse practitioner. I opted NOT to do the adult NP as well. NPs specialize. They may be: ANP=adult FNP=family WHNP=women's health NMNP=nurse midwife PNP=peds NNNP=neonatal ACNP=acute care Psych ....and there are more. The actual letters depend upon the state you are working in. I'm a nurse practitioner and clinical nurse spcialist in 2 states and have very different letters after my name depending on which state I am working in. The credentialling requirements are pretty much national despite the different titles state by state in Seattle > >NP= Nurse Practitioner (generic term) > >ANP= Adult Nurse Practitioner (specializes in adult health) > >Certificate program= is a university program for nurses who already > >have a master's degree in nursing and want to become a nurse > >practitioner in another specialty area. > > Thanks, . But, now that you expanded the abbreviation, I am a > bit confused. I thought that you WERE (are?) a NP. > > --Steve > --
