Hi there all

I have had some difficult news today - my Mum has been told she has

breast cancer, she was told on Wednesday there was something the

matter with her last mamogram, and she was given an appointment with

a specialist the next day - today Thursday, who has confirmed it is a

small cancer on the wall of her chest. She has the most wonderful

upbeat acceptance and is determined to beat it.

I am feeling absolutely overwhelmed, I have exactly 1 month till my

surgery which is open - so a little longer healing will be needed and

oh boy do I feel overwhelmed, I'm just going to take it one day at a

time. Please keep us in your prayers.

Thanks

Oh Louise! I know how difficult this is!-- But take heart-- I a have

a friend who had a small lump on the chest wall-- very deep in the

breast-- and she had the lump out, and had radiation-- had a bit of

suspicious tissue out a year later with more radiation-- and she is

now a five year survivor! She is doing very well-- still has the

breast, just no lump. It is very scarey and emotional-- but attitude

and good doctors are the key to comming thru this! I don't know

about Austraila, but we have Wellness Centers where they have support

groups and nutritiional monitoring and just about everything you need

as a survivor and fighter of cancer-- the community of support was my

friend's best weapon. You have my payers and best wishes!
