Guest guest
I homeschool my son and do ABA and other therapies myself. I use the Maurice manual, here is the Amazon.com direct link for it. This link is very long, you will have to copy and paste. If it does not work, just go to www.amazon.com and put Maurice into the author search engine. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0890796831/qid=984245797/sr=1-1 /ref=sc_b_1/105-1131222-4527932 You can also write to this group requesting information. http://www.lovaas.com/ People who implement their own ABA program generally do not homeschool like I do, they recruit and train college students to do the ABA program. You would pay an hourly rate, or depending on your country your school might do that. But I have heard it is very expensive if you don't have any financial assistance or school to pay it. Hopefully others will give you good information also. Dana > Thank you very much for your help. Do you know if at the USA there´s a place > to buy an ABA program. Guest guest
Carmen, I do my own type of ABA. True ABA ppl would laugh, but I use the Maurice book and the Work in Progress I wrote about earlier. I used to be a teacher, and I think that made it seem less overwhelming. I sit down and do weekly plans just like I have for years. I only spend about 1 to 2 hours a day on ABA. I also have a 1 yo and that makes it harder to spend as much time as i would like...I also use every teachable moment. Driving in the car- " Name animals that live on a farm " . Bouncing on her therapy ball- " Jumping up and down on the big red ball... " . I guess that is sort of what everyone does, but I just wanted to give you some ideas as we're only months into the dx and new, too. Janelle I ordered both books from Amazon.com. type in Maurice like Dana said and that will also lead you to the Work In Progress. Order now bc I had to wait about 3 wks and ended up going to barnes and noble(bookstore)to buy the Maurice book.
