Guest guest
graduated yesterday!!! It was 12 weeks and I think I have spent 90% of the time she was awake since then just rubbing her head. One bad thing is that while in the Starband she has become quite the daredevil and so now she is learning that barreling along can get your head bumped and OUCH MOM, that hurts now! So funny how much smaller she looked when I checked on her in her crib last night. I am tryng to get pix of the back of her head and will post her " after " pic as soon she cooperates. Thanks to all of you for all your support especially in the early days as we waited didn't know anything. I have already started getting all the moms I know to make sure and get thier Ped's to check for flatspots and the importance of turning their heads and getting lots of tummy time. Sometimes all that doesn't work and our babies still need to be banded but awareness is the first step and I hope I have brought a little of that to my little community of family and friends. I plan on still lurking and chiming in from time to time and I wish all of your babies speedy and successful adventures in Plagio. Love from 's Mom(Kathy) Graduated at 7mos old 12weeks in a Starband. Guest guest
Great news, I am so happy for your daughter and your family. Plagio is truely a family affair! You will be able to offer other mothers advice that is valuable so please do lurk on the boards and chime in when you feel you can offer advice. My son has been out of his band almost a year and I said to myself for a year I will continue to help other moms so I am glad you feel the same way. Good luck going forward. Guest guest
Congratulations! I guess you were worried the indents might stick, or that they would produce a measurement error. I'd worry about regression over the next week and a half -- but who would willingly take off their band 4 days (or more) before the final measurements, rather than get every available day of the treatment? I wonder how hard it is to get a follow-up scab, if one did see something untoward. -- Thad On Aug 10, 2010, at 10:21 PM, stephaniebilliel wrote: > We took off Caleb's doc band last night and had his exit > appointment this morning. We took off Caleb's doc band last night and had his exit appointment this morning. I'm glad I decided to take it off last night so his indentations could pop back out. Ugh. But, it was amazing to see his before and after 3-D digital images. His head is much more full in the back, whereas it was flat on both sides before so the back of his head looked pinched, and the facial area is very close to even looking from above. His ears are still a bit out of line, but not too bad. Treatment was 13 weeks. His measurements were within the normal range, with his CVA at 4 mm (started 12 mm). Guest guest
I am jealous, we went from 10 to 7 in 8 weeks and my little guy was only 4 1/2 months when he started. We are in second band and I have already decided that this is it, and a 3rd is not an option. I am happy with his little head and will be content even if there isn't any more improvement, although of course I would love for this band to improve his head even more, which it should. This just goes to show that every kid is different and should be reassuring to parents to pursue a band and not feel it is too late if they don't get started before 6 months. Jen Graduated! Guest guest
No, Thad, I took the band off the night before his final appointment, which was at 10L30 am. I wouldn't take it off days or weeks early! > > > We took off Caleb's doc band last night and had his exit > > appointment this morning.
