lol, no... not to keep the foot in. If you have to resort to that

there's something wrong lol... Duct tape does work though when

they're older and keep untying the darn things!

I think maybe the bar is too short.... and hes getting to much leverage... I may

if you have the gold bar with the three holes in the ends you can

increase the length by 1 " by moving one shoe to the next hole and

keeping the other one in the current hole. Just hold it up to his

shoulders and see if the heels fit around them. a bit of leeway is

ok, but much more than about 3/8 " on either side will make it too long.

If you think of how the foot sits in the shoe you can see why a bar

that is either too short or too long will pull those heels up. So

making sure it's approximately shoulder width heel to heel really is

important (not to mention most comfortable).

You did get the tips .pdf right? if not, let me know or check in the

files section. Your solution (assuming the foot is completely

corrected) is in there somewhere. Make sure the bar length is

appropriate, and make the shoe very, very tight. Shove that heel

deeply into the back of the shoe and dorsiflex the foot while pushing

on the bent knee. After you tighten them with the strap, pull the

back of the shoe and see if it slips. If it does, dorsiflex it

again, shove the heel back in there, press on the tongue and

re-tighten. Do that till the foot stops slipping. Then lace very

tightly. Also, try omitting the top holes for lacing and cut the

tongue keeper slit so that the tongue can sit very low and you can

tighten the ankle up. More info about all this is in the .pdf (with

pictures).

Hang in there, let us know how he does after you lengthen the bar k?

Kori: Thanks for your help!

Last time we went for a check up (two weeks ago), he was still fully

corrected... I hope something hasn't happened in the last two weeks, although I

am sure it is possible....
