another question about knee pain

I posted this a while ago but it seem to have disappeared into lala

land, so I am posting this again. If you get it twice I appologize.

I alos have severe knee pain. I have arthritis and bone spurs. I

also have a strange thing that happens to the muscle above my knee.

Sometimes when I move my leg while I am sleeping or when I get up to

walk the whole muscle above my knee seems to lock up. It is not

like a charlie horse. It just gets hard and freezes up and almost

seems to paralize my leg. Any ideas on what this could be would be

appreciated.
