Guest guest
We have only one DAN Doctor in our entire state. He is not on our insurance plan and not terribly near us. The doctors we have talked to so far in and near our town know very little about biological interventions of ASD and seem to feel they are a waste of time and money. We have met several parents as well as special educationa teachers and occupational therapists in town, and we seem to be the only ones in our town of 140,000 interested in gfcf diet, etc. The doctors we have talked to have said they would refer us to Children's Hospital in Denver and let them decide what tests and interventions are appropriate. We have been going in circles looking for medical assistance, and fear the folks at Children's Hospital will think we are crazy too, just wasting more of our time and money. If anyone has any advice, please feel free to share, as we are feeling very frustrated and isolated. Thanks! Guest guest
All I can sy is hang in there-the medical profession does not always embrace the diet-I was lucky and our neuroligist had heard of it and did support it. The hospital may be willing to run some tests for you.Like finding out what his body is defficient in giving you an idea for what supplements you may need. Or they might even run the allergy testing for you if you can persuade them he may have food allergys-these are also veryvaluable. Maybe they could order the test for yeast-but that is a big maybe because the yeast problem is also one of those things not widly accepted yet. If all else fails and you can afford too the doctor may be willing to order tests for heavy metals and the peptide tests but you would be respnsible for the cost. because I dont think insurance pays for these Good luck f Re: trouble finding a doctor-help needed > We have only one DAN Doctor in our entire state.
