One thing I learned being a plumber's kid -- rice will keep absorbing moisture for a long time. People who throw rice down the sink end up with clogs of it, eventually, because it keeps swelling. When we eat rice, even a little, it absorbs any liquid that is in the pouch or goes down after the rice, and it keeps growing until we are intensely uncomfortable. I can do a little better with fried rice, as the grains are usually more separate, but even so, I have to really watch not to eat too much, or I will have a growing lump of rice in my pouch that will only go away painfully. It's ok though -- rice is one of those white carbs we're better off without anyway. ~~ Lyn
