question on braces and root canal

I'm feeling really mad right now about my doctors...

Ever since I had braces the first time (12 years ago), my front

tooth was slightly discolored. It never really bothered me, it just

bothered me in that I wondered what was wrong with it.

I saw several dentists who took Xrays and said it looked 100% fine.

Before embarking on my new adventure to fix my bite, I asked my

orthodontist if that tooth is ok, since it started bugging me during

the first time I got braces. He referred me to an endodontist, who

immediately (within 5 minutes) told me the tooth was damaged and

needed a root canal, before i got braces.

This is one of my very front teeth, btw.

I don't know WHY I listed to him, but I did it, root canal on that

tooth. I got braces on the following day. And now something is

really wrong---the root canal tooth (it's been a week) is really

bothering me. All my other teeth feel fine but this one HURTS and

what really makes me worried is that it's been " growing " to the

point that it's now a full millimeter longer than my other front

tooth, within a week!

I can't get an appointment with the endodontist until next week, my

orthodontist is on vacation, and I don't trust this endodontist to

begin with---he didn't use his mask during half of my root canal

(and he complained to me about how he was sick) and next thing I

know, I have a serious eye infection.

help...anyone have a root canal, is this normal? what can i do?

i'm so mad/upset.
