However, there have been a few times where I have found myself totally stuck- in traffic, or at a school event where I can't get to my food, and I have used one to tide me over until I get home. I figured it is better to do that than risk anything cooked in a school cafeteria with who knows what in it. I'm grateful that I have tolerated them in this context, but I have not eaten them frequently or regularly. Everything else I eat is " home made " . I have not eaten any sliced meat or anything like that. Agreed. I find the Larabars to be a useful emergency food. Ditto small cans of tomato juice. (Though not together, generally!) Since I do tolerate whole nuts at this juncture, a preferred procedure is to put 2-3 dates, and tuck 2-3 pecan halves into them, squishing the date around the nuts. I get dates, and nuts, but no spices -- and I control how much carb I'm eating by controling how many dates I eat. <g> Once I open a Larabar, it's all over. I eat the whole thing. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
