Guest guest
hi michelle! my son recieved his STARband 2 weeks ago this coming wednesday, and he has been wearing it full time for a week today... i gotta admit i dreaded my son wearing this darn thing. hes already pretty fussy, spoiled to me holding him, lol! when the helmet first got put on him he seriously didnt care. it was a big shock to me because i thought as soon as it got put on him he would hate it but not really. when he started full time wear it got a little worse, so now when i take it off for a break hes kinda mad when i put it back on but he handles ok. how old is your son?? all you can do is try to keep him happy, im so sorry your little guy isnt adjusting well. get him a new neat toy or something. i was so worried about our son sleeping in his helmet but i guess im lucky cause the first night he woke a couple times but other than that he sleeps all night. you should get one of those crib toys you can use a remote to turn it on and off! maybe he will look at it and then he might fall asleep when he gets tired. maybe it will calm him down, and forget about the helmet??? just try to keep up with it, keep putting it on, talk to him and just do anything you can. i guess we are lucky they arent wearing ti forever! --------, mom to Dayton 6 months old; 1 week in STARband and MaKenna, 3 years.---round head lol > > Hello, > > My son just received his STARband last Monday. He's completed the weaning schedule and has been wearing the helmet full time (23 hours) for 2 days now. > > The last two days have been pretty brutal. He's usually a happy go lucky baby, but since the helmet has been on a short fuse and pretty fussy. Overall I think it's adjusting fairly well considering the circumstances. We haven't had to take it off completely during night time sleep, but he's still waking up every 2-3 hours (usually wakes up only 1x per night). I wanted to ask two questions: > > 1. How long did it take your baby to get use to the helmet? Will they ever adjust to the helmet enough to regain their old personality (while still in the helmet)? Or, will we have to wait until he graduates from the helmet until our little guy is completely happy again? > > 2. Also how do you place your baby in his/her crib with the helmet? It seems like it hurts my son more when I lay him flat on his back with now blankets or cushioning. Does anybody have any tips on how to make them more comfortable at night? > > Thanks, > > > Cale – 4 months old (STARband since 6/1/09) >
