Guest guest
Hi I don't think you sound like a big baby at all because I am terrified of the very same thing! I have upper jaw and chin surgery scheduled for end of May and they have told me they will also have to use a nasogastric tube for me. It sounds horrible! But I have been reassured by my doctors that it really is not that bad and that you don't even feel it when they put it down...the way I see it, it's better to have it suck out any bile than be sick with your mouth wired shut, rite? Two questions for you: 1) If you had a leforte done already what else are you having done to your upper jaw? sorry, might be me not getting the terms here but i am having a leforte, 3 parts also done plus genio. 2) I just went to have a second opinion from another surgeon and he told me that I could have rigid fixation with elastic bands rather than wiring. Now, I heard such mixed reviews regarding either technique so I was wondering what reasons did your doctor give you for being wired shut? This is actually a question that i will put to the whole board but I thought I'd ask you any way. Don't fret about the nasogastric tube...I know it's hard but try focusing on the end result. I find that always helps me!
